My Bad!

One would think that I was in the middle of exams in light of my recent slacking in the blogosphere. Alas, no such luck. When I told Rico in a recent telephone conversation that I would gladly be studying for an exam this week knowing I had a three month summer vacation, he quickly shut me up. But seriously, when you come to a time when you have no more summer vacay, you'll completely know where I'm coming from. It sucks. Just fyi. But back to my slacking, I have no excuses other than a simple lack of luster and excitement in my life currently. That, however, is getting ready to change. I've mentioned before "May Mania." The next three weeks have boat loads of excitement for this Classy girl. One might say I'm pretty eager to be in the middle of it.

This upcoming weekend is a road trip both back to my hometown along with Roxie's current city of choice for her college graduation. Such an exciting time. I can't believe it has been a full year since I was in her stilettos. Time flies, doesn't it? You can bet there will be partying, laughing, and many many pictures taken. Should be a good time. T-4 days.

The following weekend, a huge concert weekend in IG's current city of choice. Yet another road trip for Kenny, Miranda, and Lady Antebellum. One might say I'm just a tid bit thrilled about this one. 1) I've never been to IG's cute apartment since she's lived there.. mind you, she graduated a year before I did, therefore making this year number two.. sad, huh? 2) This particular city is further south than my current location and I can guarantee at least 80 degrees... ie. Pool Time! Also, I've asked off that Friday from work as the concert is on Thursday night, therefore.. Long Weekend! Welcome Summer! I'm hoping for a fantastic concert, quality IG time, and a great tan by the end of our run. Once again, you can bet on plenty of pictures. You know how we are about making all the haters jealous. ha! I. can't. wait. T-10 days.

But there's more! The following weekend, Memorial Day weekend, will be yet another long weekend! And I didn't even have to ask off of work as we have Memorial Day off anyway. Perfect! This is also the big Wedding Extravaganza of my college roommate. (Note: THE bridesmaid dress I've referred to previously, the one ordered in a larger size than requested... Recall? This would be the wedding. By the way, that dress was taken in over two inches last weekend! ha!) While in some aspects, it will most definitely be a stressful event, in many others, it will be oh so much fun. I will have college friends coming from all over back to my hometown (where the wedding is taking place), and guess who is in charge of the after party... oh. yes. Once again, quite eager to make it the event of the summer. One of the most memorable ones anyway. T-19 days.

I suppose I'm making up for my lack of a summer vacation this year. May Mania will keep me occupied for a while anyway... until I remember I have to go back to work instead of laying poolside for three months working part time and going out every night. sigh. Ah well. I'll keep you posted! Here we go!

Truth Be Told

Sometimes I just want to start a fight. Honestly. Classy, yes? Not quite. I'm not talking about "white trash-let me kick someone's ass-pull hair-scratch and spit-beat down," I don't do that. I'm just in a need to scream a little... Maybe one slap. Just one!

It's been one of those weekends... not a bad weekend, per se, but a weekend where I've just been in a mood. Every man in my life is on my last nerve in one way or another. Mr. Perfect has been Mr. PMS for the past few days. I'm not sure if he's not getting enough sleep or his daily dose of calcium, but whatever the case might be, I'm over it. Rico also knows how to get under my skin when he feels it necessary. I'm over that too. Then there are the select few ladies in my life that are driving me crazy as well. Diva came up this weekend and I'm always glad to see a face from home. But she became quite inebriated last night and her filter basically shut down after that. I was quite annoyed by the end of the evening. Basically, I'm just fed up.

Last night, I went to my Halloween party of the weekend... a day late in order to also make it a birthday party for one of our friends. It was enjoyable. I looked good. That was a plus. But I was so aggravated by everyone for the majority of the evening, I hardly would say it was as much fun as I remember house parties being in college. In any case, it was fine I guess. I'm just in a mood. A state of mind, if you will. You've been there... you know you have. I'm ready for some alone time. Or some time to spend with those who understand me a little more than some have proven to this weekend. Hope you have had a Happy Halloween weekend! Here's to a new week!

Trash Talk, 101

Oh. My. God.

Last night, while going to a party at the same apartment as last week's video game debate, I felt as if I was back in my true element. A few more girls there than last, therefore more conversational elements I cared for besides the screaming video gamers. A few more drinks were ingested than last, therefore making me laugh a little bit more and not sit in my irritability. However, neither of these two characteristics of what was a great night, compared to what truly took me back to a place I hadn't been in quite some time.

Trash Talk.
Didn't expect that one from Miss Classy Stiletto now did you? Well let me tell you friends, learn from the best. Because in a game of darts, trash talk is my specialty. In one particular year of college, I frequented the same bar almost daily with a particular "Princess" who would never be mistaken as a dart shark. Fortunate for us, not so much for our competition, dart sharks are what we learned to be. So the trash talk was thick in our circle of friendly competitors. And I loved every bit of it.

But graduations come and go and new beginnings suck as usual. I found myself without company at said bar and therefore without reason to go. No company=No fun. So last night, when challenged on the Host's new dart board, I was more than excited to oblige.

We're not going to talk about the three very close games I lost before I finally got the hang of it again and beat him, but oh was victory sweet. Turning around from your final "bulls" and whispering ever-so-lady-like, "Starting off quickly doesn't matter if you can't close the deal." Makes men come unglued. In case you were interested.

While no free drinks had to be purchased for me after winning as was the case in that particular bar (probably a good thing last night, no extra drinks were needed for this one to stumble home), victory was just as glorious as I'd remembered.

Nostalgia. I love it.
